OUTREACH APPROACH

I am passionate about mentoring the next generation of scientists and strive to encourage and inspire others to investigate and appreciate the world around them. As a doctoral student and postdoctoral researcher, I have worked to 1) provide undergraduate students with authentic research experiences, 2) enhance the presence of women in science, and 3) encourage community interest and participation in scientific research through interactive activities and lessons at local venues.

Venues ranged from a local children's museum to statewide events attended by 50+ schools and thousands of people
Designed a "Diagnosing Wildlife Disease" activity booth used at local and statewide venues
Served on graduate student society's outreach committee
